Chief Engineer – Energy sector – Morocco

Our client is an international industrial company with operations in Morocco. The company is recruiting a Chief Engineer to lead its technical activities and support local project delivery.

Based in Casablanca, you will lead the technical delivery of renewable energy projects in Morocco. You will work with local authorities, contractors and engineering teams in China to ensure that projects meet Moroccan technical requirements and safety standards.

Your main responsibilities:
• Lead technical feasibility reviews and check compliance with Moroccan regulations, grid requirements and international standards.
• Coordinate grid connection studies and technical approval processes with the relevant authorities.
• Manage technical studies and permits for projects involving reservoirs and water infrastructure.
• Review engineering designs, energy production estimates and technical inputs used in project planning.
• Define technical specifications for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts.
• Supervise construction quality, site safety, testing and project acceptance.
• Review the integration and safety of solar power and battery energy storage systems.
• Prepare operation and maintenance plans, organise technical handover and train the local team.
• Act as the main technical contact for local stakeholders and coordinate with international engineering partners.

This is a full-time position based in Casablanca. It requires at least one week per month at project sites in the Fès-Meknès region and one to two business trips to Shanghai per year.
